Description
2002 S3 in Ebony Black Pearl. I bought this in October 2023 with just under 69,000 miles on the clock and have only done about 9,000 miles in it since - currently on 77,850. Service history was patchy from 2014 onwards but the MOT history was good so I bought it after checking a few things from an S3 buyers guide on Pistonheads.
As soon as I got it home it went in to my local VAG specialist (VAG-Tech in Leominster) for a cambelt, water pump and thermostat change for peace of mind. Since then it has been trouble-free for me and all servicing, MOT and repair work has been done by VAG-Tech - including new rear springs last year.
I've also had some deep scratches I bought it with professionally repaired by Ace Autos of Leominster but the bodywork overall is by no means perfect - this is a 23 year-old car after all.
Alloys are also professionally refurbed as of this month with Michelin Primacy 4 tyres on the front and the rears are a Pirelli and a Goodyear. I'd like to have matching tyres at least per axle but only the fronts have really needed replacing since I bought it.
The car is completely mechanically standard and I haven't even changed the stereo.
Bad points to note: headlining is sagging - this hasn't bothered me so it was never a priority to fix; the passenger seat does not slide back or forth on the rails but will still tip forward for rear access; some minor wear and tear to the bodywork which can be seen up close.
I'm open to sensible offers as it's difficult to figure out a proper selling price for one of these - only selling as I am saving money for a house and that should be my priority right now.
