Description
It's time to sell my Volvo S90, which has been used as an executive private hire vehicle.
High spec inscription:
Nappa leather seats, 360 camera view, massage seats, head-up display, Volvo's version of autopilot, park in, park out, sun- roof, active LED headlights-following steering wheel in low speeds, carpets and all weather mats, polestar upgrade.
When I bought it, I was living in a flat, so charging was limited to a standard 3-pin (granny) charger. Now that I live in a house with solar panels and a wall charger, it's time to make the switch to a fully electric car. The original plan was to give the S90 to my wife, but as our family grew, she ended up purchasing an XC90 instead.
There is still outstanding finance on the car. It's with Lloyds, so it can be paid off instantly online. The best time to view the car is before 4 p.m. to ensure everything is clear for the purchase.
Redacted number plate because of cloning issue. Report provided from vehicle score.
I hadn't planned to sell it anytime soon, so I've always driven it with long-term care in mind:
Before every shift, I would switch to Power mode and wait for it to deactivate on its ownthis ensured the engine reached the correct operating temperature.
I drove in PURE mode 99% of the time, so the supercharger and turbocharger were barely used.
I always used the "Hold" function for the battery. Once the buffer was empty, I'd press "Hold" twice to slow the battery's discharge.
When going on holiday, I only charged the battery to 50%, which is ideal for long-term storage.
It has always been serviced at Volvo and comes with a full service history.
In January, the onboard charger failed and was replaced by Volvo at a cost of 2,000.
Maintenance and servicing:
- Vehicle purchased with 69 000 miles
- Polestar upgrade at 84,000 miles
- Rear brake pads changed at 120,000 miles
- Left ball joint replaced at 131,000 miles
- Timing belt replaced at 142,000 miles (cost of 1,400)
- Front brake pads changed at 147,000 miles
-Major service just completed (cost of 550)
In my experience, the best tyres for this car are Michelin Pilot Sport 4. I've tried several other brands, but the Michelins offered the best longevity and performance. Currently front tyres around 4mm and rear 6mm.
