IVY is a Sunbeam Alpine Series 1V that came off the Coventry production line in February 1964 , making her the grand old age of 61 years old. She had a full 'nut & bolt' restoration 20 years ago & retains her original matching engine & chassis numbers. 12,604 sunbeam Series 1V were produced between 1964 - 1965 - and only 1350 Sunbeams IN TOTAL are still in existence today. The Sunbeam Alpine was oneof the first Bond cars. A powder blue Series 11 was driven by Sean Connery in Dr. No , putting the vehicle 'on the road' of car desirability. The Series 1V saw the Sunbeam's famous fins that were so prominent in Series 1 - 111 get cut down, as well as getting a new front grille, with centrally placed horizontal bar & oval centre badge replacing the louvred slat design. Popular in the States as well as in the UK, Sunbeam Alpines are now sought after classic cars.
