Description
2002 Porsche Boxster 986 2.7 Manual
For your consideration is my 986, built on April 19th 2002 and finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with
dark blue leather interior.
124k and MOT until 25th April 2026.
My dad bought this 'for my mum' in April 2022 then sold it to me a year later. Between us we have spent around 4K on parts and labour. We have a service book ands some receipts.
The good:
Dansk stainless steel Sports exhaust fitted April 2023 - sounds excellent without droning on the motorway.
New clutch and flywheel September 2022
Recent oil and filter service
Bose premium audio including rare sub woofer, Sony bluetooth head unit
Electric seats.
Rare factory-fitted 17-inch Sport Classic wheels.
Two new Goodyear rear tyres this April.
Alternator
Rear brakes striped and reconditioned
New front Shocks, bump stops and top strut bearing.
Other misc work.
The not so good:
The famous 986 window regulator has been playing up on the driver's door. All works fine but needs adjusting to be perfect.
Some surface rust around the badge on the frunk lid. Replacements are about 150.
Scrape along the corner of the rear bumper caused by an idiot.
The stitching has come away on the rear window and I've currently got it taped up. The car has always been kept under a carport and only used in the dry so this has not bothered me. The roof itself doesn't leak, but it looks a little tired.
These are all minor issues I would sort through were I keeping this car, but it's time for someone else to enjoy it.
Very reluctant sale of a great car that has never let me down.
We are a Porsche enthusiast family and always look after our cars and slowly work through the jobs that need doing. Much of the mechanical work has been done so you won't have to spend the money. Time to work on the cosmetics.
Such a fun car and handles superbly. A reluctant sale.
Car currently SORN as I am driving a different car now.
I am open to very sensible offers.
Thanks for looking.
