Forsale is my MK1 scirocco it is a 1979 gls 1.6. I have owned this car since 2005 . It underwent a total body restoration in approx 1999 at a VW dealership, i have numerous photos of this , it still looks as good as the day i drove it home. Its not really had much use and has been in a garage all the time ive had it. Its always been started up and ran every few months, i did take it out the other week for a short run and it drove fine but thats the first time its been out for roughly 8 years. The cambelt will most certainly need doing before use as its not been done for many years, it needs a new exhuast as ive just repaired the rear box as it was blowing. a few hoses have been replaced and a couple of other bits including a fuel pump.it looks like there is a gasket on the side that has two hoses connected to it that needs replacing as it is corroded and for a minute or so upon start up you can sometimes see water vapour then it goes away ( just being as descriptive as possible ) . The car is as clean underneath as it is on top. It really is very very clean indeed, this car is not full of rust at all, the restoration was a bare shell restoration. I am only selling due to lack of use and a change in circumstances.I have the old service book and receipts for original parts used in the restoration along with other bits of interest .The car is 46 years old and does need a few bits doing to it before it goes out on the road. im more than happy for any inspection on this car. serious enquiries only please.
