This is a very well presented and 'unmodified' 1989 VW Golf Mk1 Clipper Cabriolet Automatic in Helios Blue with the original 'Check Pattern' interior. I have owned and enjoyed this car since 2011 and it runs & drives really well. It is in great condition for its age and has always been very reliable and the rare automatic gearbox is a delight to use. It has a service history stretching back 36 years and the current mileage of 71,204 is supported by the comprehensive service & MOT history. The car was last serviced in February 2025 when it also had a new MOT (without any advisories). The car has been garaged during my ownership and the paintwork on the car still looks good with only a few of the usual age-related blemishes. The seats, carpets, door cards etc. are in the original 'Check Pattern ' material and they are in very good condition for their age. The grey vinyl hood covering was replaced by a specialist in 2015 and there is a matching colour hood cover for when the car is being driven with the hood down. Rear lap & diagonal seat belts (supplied by a VW Mk1 specialist) were fitted in 2020 so that passengers could travel more safely in the back seat. The alloy wheels were on the car when I bought it 14 years ago and are stamped 'Volkswagen' on the rim. 4 new tyres fitted. The car has a JVC radio with a removable front cover, an electric aerial, and comes with two sets of keys. The paperwork that comes with the car includes The original purchase receipt from Volkswagen (VAG UK) to the first owner, together with the original sales brochure. The original driver's Instruction manual. The original service book stamped from the 1st service up until 2010 - and since 2011, all my service and maintenance receipts.
