Original without modifications - she still smells like the 80s! 6 previous owners (owner 5 owned her 2002 - 2012, we've owned her since 2012) Specification: 1800 Gti DX Petrol Engine 4 speed manual gearbox Left hand drive Condition: Body & Chassis: Some rust underneath. Paintwork shows light wear as expected for age, but the car presents extremely well (see photos). Roof replaced 6 years ago and weatherproof. Still has original cover. Original suspension. Interior: Original cloth seats in good condition and no tears, complete trim with some crazing in plastic. Modern FM radio fitted; original aerial works. Missing RH side wing mirror knob. MFA (multi-function display) under warning lights does not work. History & Extras: No service history but some export and registration documents. Last major service in August 2025 (new battery, new fuel pump relay, brakes stripped, front pads replaced, new timing belt, new drive belts, filters changed). Original VW manual. Positives Very original and not tampered with. Electrically sound after summer service. Two sets of keys. Has been driven regularly and completely reliable on long journeys. Becomes tax exempt in 2027. Negatives Stalls easily in reverse when cold. Valve on front near tyre is hard to fit a tyre pump over. Fiddly glove compartment lock. Some light scratching on the paintwork . Depending on how you look at it, being LH drive in the UK.
