Description
This is a car without power steering, without ABS, without effective heating, without many more modern bits of technology that we have become so used to. But what it has in abundance is character, charm and fun. It has never failed to turn heads, many more than friends' much more expensive cars. This particular example is not a show car, but a well loved and dependable runner that spent 3 years as my daily driver before phasing into a gentler life as a hobby car/garage ornament. I'll be very sad to see it go, but it's time for a new home.
It has a great blend of original and non-original features. For example, the interior has some original black leather trim, steering wheel and headrests, mixed with cream leather and carpets with a walnut-effect dash and a bluetooth stereo. Wire wheels, chrome bumpers and a webasto sunroof to enjoy in the summer whilst the colour is actually a non-original metallic blue.
However, I repeat that this is not a show car. There are bodywork blemishes, rust bubbles and some damage to the driver's door. Whilst plenty of work has been done and many parts replaced, I haven't quite gotten around to having all the bodywork sorted. This, I have decided, is a job for the next owner to work on ahead of a great summer cruising with windows down and the sunroof open.
Mechanically, the car is a good runner. A comfortable cruiser, with 4 gears plus overdrive on 3rd and 4th. It has recently had a new battery and is a great starter, though I'm sure it could benefit from a service.
Questions and discussion welcomed, and I'm happy to provide any additional information or photos if needed.
