Description

Thanks for looking at our family car, this GTE is actually a bit higher spec'd than normal, i think its basiclly an Advance but before that version appeared. It has the keyless start/stop on the button and keyless entry touching the door handles to open and lock. it has heated seats and radar cruise control / emergency braking and theoretically automatic parking though neither of us was ever brave enough to use it. i think it has done around 30k in our care, mileage now 105k. full service history, battery is at 100% and the 1.4 turbo petrol engine has never been troubled, sounds like its done a fraction of its miles, i guess because it has, due to the battery doing a lot of the work and the engine being a passenger. this is rechargeable via mains or the charge points, or can charge itself while driving, and does 26 miles i think last i tried on full electric, no engine, which is exactly what you'd expect from a brand new one. i suspect VW were trying to prove a point with that. the real way to drive it though i would say is in hybrid GTE, which uses the 1.4 turbo engine and the 100 kilowatt motor in the right mix when they are most efficient (or deliver the most power, depending on the setting you choose). thats really when you get the best of both worlds which is what this car is all about. family used, school runs, Sainsburys and a few trips to scotland and cornwall, it has always been serviced and never wanted for anything, never let us down. all tyres are good, never contained a dog (though im sure one would be happy enough) or smoked in. its about to get an early MOT to show how good. all reciepts and work present, and ready for its next owner. we are looking to buy a house, need deposit and my other half will not part with her TT and i darent argue. the later one, the 900cc engine, goes further on pure electric but i'll be honest i didnt fancy driving a 1 litre. a 1.4 turbo is still a pretty decent car to drive on motorways even without the help from the electric.
