Description

This is a lovely and original 1.9 (140BHP) Orinoco edition Z3 built in 1998 and first registered in Jan 1999. I have owned since October 2022 and the previous owner since 2015. Prior to that it was owned by a couple in Birchington (Kent) since 2004. I have all the bills for maintenance and repairs since 2004 to the present day. It has been a lovely car, and my second Orinocco edition. The hard top was saved from the previous car, and gives you two cars in one. Great for winter driving - warm, quiet and stiff. It is easy for two people to lift off and store, and comes with a protective cover. On a run, at a reasonable speed I can achieve 40 MPG. The previous owner had a new Mohair softop fitted in 2018, which is still in excellent contition. I have kept the car covered during my ownership. Unfortunately, it has done very few miles in the last couple of years. it was my daily car when I was working but I am now retired. It's incredibly reliable and a beautiful car to drive. In my ownership I have had the following work done: 1. New clutch and mass flywheel. 2. 3 New suspension springs . 3. New radiator. 4. Replacement Cam/Rocker cover gasket. 5. New tyres, which all have plenty of life left in them. The bodywork is in very good condition for its age (27 years), with no wheel arch rust. However, there are several things that are not so good, which are: 1. Rust bubble on the offside front of the bumper. 2. Drivers seat bolster is warn through but could be repaired. I just haven't thought it necassary as it's not visible in use. 3. LCD screen on the dash has developed a fault that means the mileage cannot be read. This is not an issue as the mileage can be read by a garage through the ECU. Used dash units available through ebay for very little money and look to be straightforward to fit 4. There is some rust on the sill cover panels. These panels are decorative and non-structural, as they are bolt on and can easily be replaced. 5. Air conditioning has a leak, so it does not hold gas. Two keys, which both operate the central locking. MOT until August 2026 but I will get a new one prior to sale.
