Description
The "Hens teeth rarest" said EVO magazine, April 2026, of the most collectable Honda Civic 2.0 VTEC Turbo Type R; the Ultimate Edition. A rare chance to own Number 27 of 40 cars globally and 1 of only 10 offered for the UK market. Delivery mileage and better than brand new; 2 ceramic coatings and has remained under dust cover in locked garage and transported from dealership, so never driven. See EVO magazine April 2026, 5 star rating and the copious 5 star reviews from all the major magazines that define the FL5 Type R as 'the ultimate hot hatch'. EVO, April 2026 says, "there's never been anything quite like it". And "Outguns the biggest hitters from AMG and Audi". Other superlatives include, "the best gear shift on the planet, GT3 (Porsche) included". And "The brakes are sublime. The gold standard". And "exquisite steering feel with perfectly judged rate of response". This is the very last of the Civic Type R production run, the scarcist of all Type R's and the most sought after. This is a rare opportunity to own an unused and better than showroom condition 1 of just 10 Type R's with delivery mileage of 8.6 miles, and never driven. Includes carbon sill plates, carbon centre console, carbon rear spoiler, unique interior lighting and type R illuminated projectors on opening the doors and 5 year Honda service plan (free services for 5 years!). Plus Ultimate Edition carbon fob and plaque in display box and Type R Ultimate Edition car protective cover. As EVO says, "it's a lesson in execution".
Reason for sale? I crave to drive it and already own one! Finally a snippet from Car magazine October 2025, issue 759; The magic of the Civic Type R has long been its duality. It can do the prosaic stuff (relatively comfy, big boot, spacious cabin). But it's also a love letter to the vanishing art of high performance driving. I've lost count of the number of tests I've written involving the civic type R, most of which it's won. In the first 50 yards, you noticed the perfect driving position and control weights, and before you even start the engine there's a sense of occasion normally reserved for far more powerful and expensive machinery - a thrill of anticipation in the aggressive wheel cambers, the sickle-like cut of the rear wing, the Alcantara tactility of the fuss-free steering wheel and the whole-body embrace of the bucket seats. Then there's the six speed manual, which is better even than that of the 911 S/T's! It's simply perfection!
