This is my stunning 1 of 1 unique Elise that is the best balance of road and performance, with a professional comprehensive upgrade package including supercharging to approx. 280bhp.
The original car was a 111R from 2004 - one of the first Toyota engined Elise built.
Sinclair Motorsport (now Essex Autosport) carried out the conversion in 2008 and called it the Tsukuba supercharged Elise - marketing it to other owners successfully although very few are left! See the last photo of this actual car on their show stand.
Lotus at that time did not offer a supercharged version so an Eaton supercharger with chargecooler was the best solution - along with Nitron/Eibach suspension and various other upgrades. These mods were carried out by Sinclair and all the invoices are available in a detailed file.
The supercharger smooths the power delivery immensely, so power is continuous and builds from low rpm so can be used right throgh the rev range. The chargecooler allows the power to be retained even when temperatures rise. The sound of the engine and whine of the supercharger close to your right ear is something to behold, and combined with the sensation of relentless push is just in another league to a standard lotus 111R.
The car has been meticulously maintained irrespective of costs and is stunning to see and to drive. It is comfortable for long trips, with the standard seatbelts having been retained in addition to 4 point Luke harnesses. The standard 111R seats are amazingly comfortable, with balloon type lumbar support. It will also return 30mpg on a run.
Several modifications to enable use on track, without compromising the road performance have also been made. The Toyota gearbox was upgraded as part of the build, and a further complete overhaul has just been done by ES Motorsport Norwich with new carbon synchros, gears, bearings, shifter cables and a performance clutch. The car has always been serviced every 6 months, evidenced by a huge file of documents. It was also recently serviced in 2024 with Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5w-40 oil and filter, brake fluid and other consumables.
