Description

I wanted to experience a V8 and the MG ZT 260 seemed like an ideal choice, so I bought this one as it's a solid low mileage example that I could improve upon. Being a 2004 it's also cheaper to tax than the late registered ones. The plan was to sell my other modern classic... I couldn't bring myself to do it! So now this has to go. I've already spent a lot on improvements and preservation measures, much more than I would have if I knew I was going to sell it, over 2k at a MG Specialist. So I don't think I'll be getting my money back! Good Points: Mechanically good, drives, stops and runs very well Uprated exhaust - sounds incredible (original version included too) Very Low Mileage at 44.5k Full service - Mar 26, oil, pollen filter, coolant, brakes checked etc etc Both subframes checked and undersealed - Mar 26 The usual problematic heater valve replaced - Mar 26 All sunroof drains and plenum chambers cleared out - Mar 26 Four new tyres - Mar 26 New Mot - Feb 26 no advisories Headlights restored - Mar 26 New bonnet release cables - Mar 26 Diff oil changed at 33k Rust free body Uprated front and rear lights SE model with black leather seats with no bolster wear, rear blind, working sunroof, rare black speedo and dash effect (Owners club cert confirming the spec and build number too) Bluetooth Radio Uprated metal intake manifold (1.3K purchase), intake pipe and throttle body (all original parts retained and included in the sale) Quite a few parts also included in addition to the intake, well over 2K's worth, original back boxes and brackets, powerflex bushes, spare instrument cluster, uprated lateral link arms, original gear knob, sill plates and clock, spare rear light, spare wheel and fitting kit, original egr valve, additional tyre, spare mats and prob more MG number plate included the original was the same year also provided if you want to put it back (54) Bad points: The paintwork, though good overall for its age, has some rough bits. My next step was to respray the front bumper which is the worst part. beyond that the front wing has some lacquer peel, the lpg kit was removed many years ago but the filler cap area has been bodged during the delete and possibly the rear bumper could do with a tidy up too. It's booked in for a machine polish next week (booked it ages ago) which will help a lot but some bits are respray candidates in my opinion. The LCD screen has lines that have stopped working - spare provided
