Description

Up for sale is my Ardent Red Lotus Elise S2, fitted with the legendary Honda K20 engine, widely regarded as the ultimate upgrade for these cars. The result is something genuinely special: significantly enhanced performance while retaining everything that makes the open-top Elise so engaging. The K20 is one of the finest high-revving engines ever produced and suits the Elise perfectly, preserving its lightweight, analogue character while adding reliability and serious pace. Background & Ownership The engine was professionally built for my brother's 24-hour Honda Civic endurance race car but following the sale of the car, the engine remained unused which led to the purchase of this Elise specifically for the conversion. We acquired the car in September 2019 at just under 23000 miles. It's since covered only 6300 miles and now sits at 29302 miles. It's always been a third car and simply isn't getting the use it deserves. The car has had 6 previous owners, most understood to be fair-weather use only. This was advised by Adrian Blyth of Specialist Cars (Hindhead), who had previously sold the car multiple times before. While I cannot verify this, the condition strongly supports it, the underside is exceptionally clean with minimal corrosion. The car is equally happy cruising or being driven enthusiastically. It has not been used as a track toy aside from a handful of laps at Castle Combe on a private test day shortly after the conversion, it has been exclusively road-driven.
