Fully retracting motorised soft-top, with the turbo-charged fuel injected 1.6 litre petrol engine. Brand New MOT in February 2024, no major work needed, minor wear and tear. New Tyres, brake pads and CV joints. Very nippy, handles equally well in winter and summer, with the top up or down. As the Mini Cooper (especially the S version) was designed for excellent road holding and cornering, the suspension height & the bottom of the car is set close to the road for maximum downforce and a low height to weight ratio. Unfortunately, when driving in Edinburgh, especially in the centre of town, the road surface, numerous potholes and the general poor maintenance of the roads means that the car will occassionally bottom out regardless of how slowly or carefully you drive. She has been an excellent car with little or no issues since we have had her and is a joy to drive. Engine runs smoothly and picks up well with the injection and sports additions. Fitted with a close set, 6 speed gearbox, recently serviced and with links replaced so changing gear is smooth with no noise or wear and no noise during driving from the gearbox or axles. She is fitted with full leather seats front and back, air conditioning, rear parking sensors and a basic FM radio and CD player. Fully motorised convertible retractable roof with no motor issues or sticking. Cloth roof has just been recleaned and checked - no holes, tears, rips or repairs.Electric windows front and back and electric adjustable & retractable side mirrors.Has ABS and power steering but, with wide wheels, low height and sports setting, it is not the lightest steering in the world. We are selling because of the really poor condition of the roads, the number of potholes in the roads inside and around edinburgh, and our worry that, at some point, this will end up causing a serious and expensive breakage to the suspension, steering and/or the engine / gearbox, with the only option to scrap her.
