Description

Hello and welcome to the sale of my 1989 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible. It's covered 78K miles and I have a stack of history detailing servicing, repairs etc. So, I'm a kid and on my bedroom wall-3 posters. We all had them, a red Ferrari, a white Lambo and a lovely young lady holding a tennis racket lifting her skirt exposing her rather lovely perfect bottom-remember in the days before PC? Yep, every young boy had the same bedroom wall. Well, as wonderful as they were I guess they were just dreams. Then Jaguar launched the XJS. The daddy was the V12 convertible. It meant working hard at school but, maybe it was achievable. Then the years rolled by, we found beer, disco & girls. Then engaged-married-mortgage-kids. The dream-a distant memory now. Divorce, life was almost over! What now? Pick yourself up, head down-hopefully a little wiser and crack on. More years-another girl but now-at last-SETTLED. Even got a few quid behind us. So, back to the dream and YES, after many months of looking for the right one, I bought it. My very own XJS V12 convertible. So-the bad bits. She's thirsty. But what can you expect.V12 5.3cc if you want economy-go buy a Focus. She's old but gracious. A few little niggles here and there-but I guess these are the joys of owning an old lady. Tinkering problems I like to call them-nothing serious-just treat her respectfully and she'll return miles of care free grin from ear to ear motoring. Now then, for the GOOD bits. She's been proper looked after, maintained regularly. 5 new tyres-let me tell you-they took some finding. All new interior carpets, new roof with a new tonneau cover, a total A/C upgrade as the old gas is now illegal. New fuel tank, new battery, new discs & pads all round, new shocks-Blimey the list goes on-happy to go through it with you if required. More importantly, it puts a smile on my face every single time I look at her, let alone use her. Everyone looks with jaw dropping admiration. Smooth, quiet, powerful. What else can I say-she's just a lovely car and such a throw back to my dreams and youth. Easy to say-and I guess everyone says the same thing "it's a stunning and a fantastic example" well like I said-she's not perfect, but-I think she's a very good example & smells great too like an old Jag should-please feel free to come take a look and make up your own mind. I'm busy at work (poor excuse I know but-I am) and these days I hardly get to use her. Covered less than 4K miles since owned. Wife says she's got to go. Next MOT due 12/10/2024, Part service history, Blue, 5+ owners, £16,250
