Description
Since the X-Class Element Edition is based on the Progressive trim level of the pickup, it benefits from all the standard bits and goodies that are included in that top-spec trim. Here, that means chrome door handles, load-securing rails, heated mirrors, and a rugged-looking black underbody guard. Mercedes added what it called “Style Pack” which includes privacy glass, side steps and roof rails along with LED lights front and rear, and a set of 19-inch alloy wheels unique to the model., All X-Class Element Editions have the 2.3-liter turbocharged OM699 Inline-4 turbo diesel engine which produces 188 hp (DIN) and 306 lb/ft of torque. The added power is provided by the same 2.3L OM699 as in the X200d (wherein it makes 161 hp and about 280 lb/ft) however, here, the engine is fitted with a two-stage turbocharger instead of a single stage. That engine is mated to the 722.9 seven-speed automatic transmission. Power is put to the ground via on-the-fly four-wheel drive system (sounds so 80’s)., The interior is decidedly up-market, and the trim, switch-gear and surfaces are immediately familiar to any modern Mercedes-Benz. Artico leather upholstery, automatic climate control, an advanced filter system that can keep dust and unpleasant smells from entering the cabin along with traditional round vents and some bright-work are all there. That “advanced filter system” keeps the stink and grime out of the cabin and does a good job of it. By virtue of the trim it’s based on, the X-Class Element Edition comes with autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, traffic sign assistance, and anti-theft electronics. A reverse camera also comes standard, and a trailer stability assistance system is optional. Mercedes-Benz X Class 250d 4Matic Progressive Double Cab Pickup Auto , White, £24,784, +VAT
