Description
1996 Mazda Bongo Friendee, 2.5L Diesel Automatic, imported from Japan in 2006. Since then it has had 3 very careful owners. The Bongo has many possibilities. It can be a comfortable 8-seater or a camper for up to 4. The pop-top easily sleeps 2 and has a custom-made fitted mattress which folds for easy storage. It has a zipped internal 'tent' which can be opened (fly-screen remains in place) for ventilation and star-gazing. The seats below flatten out for a good-sized double. Storage areas remain beneath the seats in the back or on the front seats. There are electronic blinds for the rear windows and fabric blackout covers for the windscreen and front side windows. The Bongo was MOT'd 29th May 2024. The car has been well maintained and regularly serviced. It has had essential restorative work carried out, in particular new wheel arches, always a vulnerable point in a Bongo, were replaced and welded in 2021. There has been a 2nd cambelt (2022). More recently a completely new battery (June 2024) and re-conditioned alternator means she starts first time every time. New steering rack (2020). The pop-up has had new reconditioned motors (June 2024) and gas struts (May 2023).For a vehicle of its age there are very few issues. Rear windscreen wipers don't function but this is not an MOT fail and has never posed a problem. Despite the high mileage, and after all these vehicles were made to travel long distances!, she drives like a dream and is super easy to park and manoeuvre. Next MOT due 29/05/2025, Part service history, White, 4 owners, £4,490
