1971 Mercedes Benz W108 280sFor sale is my 1971 Mercedes Benz W108 280s. I have owned the car since 2020 when it was imported from South Africa. The mileage shows as 30,000 miles on the clock, understandably due to the age of the car this may not be accurate and can also not be verified. It is a manual model, which is becomingly sort after due to how rare the manual models are. Mechanically:The engine is a 2.8L inline-6, with a 4 speed manual column shift gearbox. The engine runs incredibly well, whilst I have been in ownership of the car, I have had the Zenith Pierburg Carburetors rebuilt. The front brake calipers replaced, and rebuilt the rear calipers.Exterior of the car:The colour of the car is Mercedes Light Ivory. The previous owners had the car resprayed, so the paint is in near new condition, with no rust. The underside of the car is also completely rust free and whilst I have owned the car, I have had it under sealed. Interior of the car:The previous owners of the car also had it reupholstered, whilst this is not original, it is extremely well carried out and is in good condition. The car will come with both the original radio and also the radio that I have fitted whilst in ownership of the car. The new radio is modern so has Bluetooth etc. but the style of the radio is designed to be in keeping with the age of the car. Front seats are fitted with seatbelts. There is limited history of the car. I have recently put the car through an MOT for peace of mind and the only advisory that came from that was the brakes which have been fixed. Thus the car is not just in good condition aesthetically but also can be assured to be safe mechanically also. Overall, a stunning example of a car this age presented extremely well with the unusual 4 speed column shift manual gearbox.
