First UK RHD 928, pre-production RHD prototype, 5-speed manual, built August 1977 12 months before RHD 928 production. Delivered to Porsche Cars GB early 1978 for British Motor Show and registered 01/02/1978. Official press car before displayed at Midland Motor Museum. Returned to Porsche Cars GB 1984/85 as training vehicle for technicians. Acquired March 1994 by Porsche enthusiast John Vaughan and restored. Professionally painted at Porsche Cars GB (photographs on file). Restoration included new tyres, brake pads, brake fluid, all belts, spark plugs, oil, filters and clutch slave cylinder. Original interior in classic Porsche Pascha cloth. Completed 1995. Several prototype features: constructed from LHD shell, windscreen wipers relocated RH side. The dashboard hand-stitched, no glovebox, foot pedals offset. Since displayed at many events inc. Goodwood Revival and Festival of Speed, and UK launch of the Porsche Panamera. Featured twice on Top Gear and Wheeler Dealers. Appeared in print in multiple motoring magazines. Current MOT. Not driven in winter.
