Description

1999 Honda Integra DC2 Type R (UKDM).The Honda DC2R is widely considered to be one of the greatest front-wheel-drive cars of all time, if not one of the best driver's cars overall. Its acclaim comes from its exceptional Japanese engineering, with a lightweight, balanced chassis, limited-slip differential, and a rev-happy 1.8-litre B18C VTEC engine that screams all the way to the 9,000 RPM redline. This is an original UK domestic market model, 1 of only 500 ever made. While 160,400 miles might be considered high for most cars, this is a Honda. Designed to be driven, these old Hondas are renowned for their reliability, and bulletproof if well-maintained as this one has been.I've owned this car as part of a small private collection and it's been my daily driver on-and-off for the last four years. It wants for nothing and drives superbly. In the past year alone, I've spent around GBP 5,000 ensuring this car is mechanically sorted. The following work has been carried out within the last year: New timing belt and tensioner (Aug 2024); New water pump (Aug 2024); New power steering and alternator auxiliary belts (Aug 2024); New rear discs and callipers (Nov 23); New brake pads front and rear (Nov 23); New ft top suspension wishbones (Nov 23); Gearbox rebuild sourcing genuine 3/4th gear synchro from Japan (Nov 23); New clutch (Nov 23); New tyres front and rear (Nov 23); Regular service - fluid flush etc. (Nov 23); MOT until 14/11/24 with no advisories. The car comes with a folder full of receipts and invoices going back 25 years. VTEC kicks in and pulls hard every time. The only modification is a Skunk2 Megaflow exhaust, which sounds fantastic without being too loud. Everything else is stock. The paint could benefit from a refresh, but as I use it every day, it doesn't bother me. Same story with the interior - usual wear on the driver seat bolsters and steering wheel. Great overall condition for a car of this mileage, as you can see from the images. If you're looking for a garage queen to tuck away, this probably isn't for you. But if you want a clean, unmodified and useable example of an automotive icon - look no further! I'd love to keep this forever, but a recent house purchase necessitates the sale. These are now rare as hen's teeth and deserve to be out on the road. The price is now fair and fixed - NO TIME WASTERS. Next MOT due 14/11/2024, Black, 4 owners, £10,950
