Description

"Above and Beyond" is certainly one way you can describe this 1994 Land Rover Defender 110. Factory fitted with a 300Tdi engine (code 16L) and a R380 5 speed gear box, blue is not how one will be feeling when driving this 110 Defender. With 26,200 miles to it's name, you will find it's in exceptional condition due to the high standards of maintenance it has received as it's original purpose was to deliver humanitarian aid and to be used for search & rescue. The specification to allow the 110 to be fit for purpose required a factory fitment of a 9000-lb (4000kg) rated Warn winch, snorkel, Dixon Bate Towpack, alpine lights, side steps and immobiliser. Further additions included BFGoodrich tyres, two-part sump armour, rear window tints, rear window grills, rear light grills, ladder, VHF radio, wing checker plates, and "rescue" roof lights. Its wading capabilities were vital in search & rescue missions during the York floods of 2000, where it gained media attention and featured in a Land Rover magazine called "The Reporter". The chassis, bodywork and drivetrain on this Land Rover Defender 110 are completely original. This includes bulkhead, doors, rear tub- to name some. Due to the type of use in its early life, the chassis and certain drivetrain components have been heavily protected with waxoyl and thoroughly cleaned after exposure to adverse conditions. This protection has been maintained over the years to prevent degradation. Servicing including a cam-belt change has been performed at recommended intervals by an independent Land Rover specialist. Light restoration includes a blacked-out roof liner and stainless steel exhaust. Purchased new on September 15th 1994 at the former Hartwell Land Rover dealer in Wellingborough, Northampton, the vehicle came from a production run that Land Rover put aside for non-domestic use and while in the factory it was requested for the wheels to be sprayed black and the roof exterior to be re-sprayed to match the body; which explains why the inside of the roof is white. It has had one family owner in its lifetime; the only change in keeper was due to the first owner passing away. The vehicle comes with two key sets including original dealer tags, original logbook/manual, various Land Rover spares and Land Rover roadside tools. The vehicle is registered as an ambulance; road tax is 0 a year. MOT of 12 months can be included from sale, on request. If the phone number goes to voicemail, please leave a message. Next MOT due 28/11/2024, Medium wheel-base, Blue, 2 owners, £40,000, No VAT
