Description
Selling my Classic 1000cc 1987 Austin Mini. This very striking mini was sold to the first owner by Gates of Brockenhurst. The overall condition is stunning. The underside is solid and body looks great. It has covered just over 20k miles from new, and drivers really well. It has been wax oiled so to keep the condition nice for years to come. Moving forward from the first registration it was living in Wickford Essex in 2004, then moved to Seascale Cumbria in 2005. Next owner near Carlisle, did some body work, fitting new Wings, door skins were replaced and car was repainted. No other bodywork needed. It then moved to the Northeast. A Mini enthusiast wanted it for a birthday present for his daughter, so the last two owners were from this same family. He did following: New wheels, new front discs, pads, new rear subframe and brake pipes etc added adjustable suspension so that you can adjust it to your preference, new shockers, upgraded headlights, exhaust and stage 1 system fitted = Exhaust / manifold / hangers etc. Engine overhauled, deglazed pistons and rings fitted. Lot of updates done and refreshed work carried our e.g. water pump. Thermostat etc. I purchased the car and have tried to keep it as original as possible with the following done / fitted. Vintage wooden steering wheel, high quality boot liner kit, fitted correct carburettor needle to support stage one system, new starter motor, vintage spot light, 12V power socket to allow phone and satnav connection, new front screen to repair large stone chip, ball joint and drive shaft boot, plus loads of other maintenance work done. Oil and filters etc. It's been looked after from day one, and by each owner moving forward. It appears to have been dry stored and original apart from the body work items done. It has its original radio and I kept the original steering wheel in case its needed. The 20K mileage is original from new and as you can see from DVLA MOT site, it's done very little miles per year. Between November 2019 and the last MOT in November 23, the Mini had covered 763 miles. Due to low miles I totally flushed the coolant system to de gunk any issue. I don't use antifreeze as it stored in winter. It has been tuned and now runs like a dream. Great fun to drive and it gets a lot of attention when it's out on the road or parked up. MOT will be done on the 28/10/24 and a new steering rack fitted. Next MOT due 28/11/2024, Green, 5+ owners, £9,850
