Description
Selling my car that has brought a lot of joy but sadly isn't practical with a baby on the way and long commutes ahead. It is in great structural condition and drives well. Being 30 years old, it could use some love and needs to be driven more than I can manage. I haven't had as much time for it due to my PhD, so it deserves an owner who can enjoy it more. ------------------------------------------------------ Note: If the car doesn't sell before I start work in December, I will renew the MOT and relist at a higher price. ----------------------------------------------------- Key Details: Structurally Sound: Inspected the sills thoroughly when I bought it. Driver's side sill looked factory fresh, and the nearside was in good condition too. At the time, treated the sills and underside with Noxudol, a high-quality rust protection (much better than the cheap ones you often see on these cars). Mods for Tall Driver (reversible): At 6'5", I made the interior more comfortable. Removed armrests on doors, added leather straps, swapped in a smaller steering wheel, reduced foam in the driver's seat (Google "MX-5 foamectomy"), and removed the driver sun visor. All original parts are included and easily reinstalled. Patch of Rust: Small patch of rust below the passenger door treated with Noxudol. Not structural. Intended to repaint but never did; I'll include the spray paint for the next owner. Quirky Details: The ignition barrel was replaced after the key snapped, so the ignition key is different from the door key. Previous owner fitted pedal covers with long bolts, which I meant to replace but didn't. Two-tone color scheme gets lots of compliments and adds to the fun character. Wear & Tear: Some gaiters and dust covers are worn and will need replacing soon. Other: Fitted with a Cobalt exhaust from Moss Europe in 2020. I also have several bits and pieces for future projects that I'll include in the sale. Next MOT due 27/12/2024, Silver, 5+ owners, £2,500
