The MGB sports car was officially launched at the Earls Court motor show on September 20th 1962. With just 22 cars from 1962 still registered in the UK and 111 from 1963 this car built 8th – 11th March 1963 and despatched 20th March 1963 is one of the very oldest surviving MGBs. The car retains the clean looks of the Mk1 cars with no reversing lights and the ‘Pull’ door handles. This car also has the ‘rare chrome strip around the speedo binnacle and original style door cappings. Ordered new with the optional extras of heater, oil cooler and wire wheels (which are currently black but can be switched for silver). The car retains the originally choice of black paint and red trim. the car has gone through an extensive restoration , the gearbox has just been rebuilt and has the benefit of the additional overdrive on 3rd and 4th gears. The free-spinning 3 bearing engine has also been stripped and rebuilt with new bearings, re-ground crankshaft and new pistons. the car was MOT’d in February this year with no advisories reported and limited use since.
