Welcome to my advert for my beloved and cherished 1982 MK1 Golf GTI! The highly sought after hot hatch from the 80's. I honestly don't even know where to begin but I guess the start is always a good place. I first laid eyes on this gem 17 years ago in the spring of 2008. I found it advertised on eBay and instantly fell in love with it. The sale was finalised on 31/5/08 and has been in my care and ownership ever since. I even still have the bill of sale and original printout of the entire eBay advert. The car was originally a barn find and the gentleman I had bought the car from had the engine replaced with the slightly newer and more powerful 1.8 MK1 GTi engine (DX). On paper it is still registered as the standard 1.6 engine (EG). In addition he also equipped the car with a full Magnex stainless steel exhaust as well as a few other subtle performance upgrades which can be found in the paper work. During my ownership this car has spent it's whole life in dry storage in my father's garage, until we took it out in 2019 to get it sold. Once it was back on the road and I felt the thrill of driving it again I could not bear to part with it, so it went back into storage after a few short months. Fortunately now, my circumstances have changed and as reluctant as it is I have fully resolved to sell it. We took it out of storage again about a year ago to get it ready to move on to another owner and this time I am firm on the decision. I have had a lot of work done and a lot of money spent with Volkswagen specialists to get it to where it is now. I have lots of paperwork and receipts to show - It has had a new water pump, new fuel injectors, new fuel pump, new heater matrix and new starter motor just to name a few, plus much more and lots of documented intricate work to the wiring and lines. Road tax exempt due to age. It has just had a full years MOT put on earlier this month and is all ready to go! All these years of ownership and truth be told I have barely driven it. After 17 years I have only put about 500 miles on it, which is absolutely nothing! My only regret is that I didn't drive it more. There is so much more to say that I cannot fit in this description alone. Looks and sounds incredible!
