It carries some design cues from its SEAT counterpart, the SEAT el-Born, but with more performance-oriented elements unique to Cupra. It is powered by an all-electric drivetrain, with the battery pack integrated into the vehicle's floor, providing a low centre of gravity for improved handling. The electric motor(s) drive the front or all wheels, depending on the configuration. The Cupra Born was the brands first ever take on a fully electric hatchback, having shared its production amongst the Volkswagen ID.3 and adding several more sporty tweaks to help separate the two apart.
