In this instance proof of marriage and same address is requiredin the form of a marriage certificate and utility bill/driving license, and copies of these documents arerequired to be retained in the deal fileâ?ª Common-law Partners of eligible Trade-In vehicle owners are permitted to purchase a new vehicle intheir own Name. E.g. Mr Smith is the owner on the V5 of an eligible Trade-In vehicle, but the newvehicle will be registered in the name of Miss Jones. In this instance proof of same address for morethan 1 year is required in the form of utility bills and driving licenses, and copies of these documentsare required to be retained in the deal fileâ?ª In the event that a customer requests to register their new vehicle in a company name or differentpersonal name to the name that appears on V5 of the eligible Trade-In vehicle or a different companyaddress to that of the Trade-In eligible vehicle, the following rules must apply:- There must be proof that the customer or business that owns the Trade-In vehicle is also theowner or the owner of the business that the new vehicle is being registered to e.g. a currentrecord from Companies House should be retained in the deal file- There must be proof of a change in business name or proof that the business that owns theTrade-In vehicle and the business that is purchasing the new vehicle, are both owned by thecustomer. e.g. a current record from Companies House should be retained in the.
