I have restored this X type so it is a really reliable car. It has a long MOT ( October 2025) New radiator and water pump fitted new rear suspension springs and shock absorbers fitted. Various bushes also replaced all rear suspension parts had surface rust removed and were repainted with at least two coats of quality anti rust paint. Brake pads replaced and some brake pipes . Heavy duty battery replaced about 18 months ago. Sills have been checked and any rust cut out and patches welded in. Off side plastic sill trim refitted properly. New wiper blades and various other repairs done over the lasy year to enhance vehicles condition Interior cream leather is in very very good condition . Bad points some scratches and marks ( seagull's ? ) on the paintwork but not glaringly obvious it is a 22 year old car !! On occasion the charging light comes on . This is a common fault on Jaguars as the charging measuring instruments are over sensitive, I have repeatedly checked the charging current and it is always at least 13 volts or more . I have driven several long distances at night with heater and wipers going but car has started as easily as it ever does . I would suggest this be accepted as a characteristic not something to be concerned about. The last fault is the drivers door central locking unit had tio be disconnected as it failed repeatedly to unlock when the rest of the system was unlocked. One simply uses the key to unlock or lock the door. New replacement parts were not available at the time.Now reason for sale I have several serious health issues replacement hips and knees for certain which will halt any driving or mechanic work for several years so I am advised. I have priced this car to sell not because its got a short life in front of it. Its a genuine bargain and it should give you lots of enjoyable use not big repair bills.If you decide to come by train to collect the car then I am quite happy to pick you up at Barnstaple railway station to make things easier for you.
