Description
KEY FACTS: A rare BMW homologation special, created for the World Touring Car Championship entry, presented in great condition and with the lowest mileage currently available for sale in the UK. Under the bonnet is a hand-built 2.0-litre N45 inline-four developed for the E90 FIA WTC, producing up to 173hp at 7,000rpm, and driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transmission. The car benefits from an impressive service history file. EQUIPMENT AND FEATURES: A mere 2,600 examples of the E90 320si were built, to homologate the World Touring Car which used the same engine. The inline-four N45 motor was hand-built in the UK, at the same facility that put together the BMW-Sauber Formula One powertrains, with the cylinder head cast alongside the F1 engines. Its visual highlight is the carbon-fibre cam cover. While it saves around 10kg and lowers the centre of gravity, it is also a fantastic aesthetic enhancement to the engine bay. The 2.0-litre engine has an increased compression ratio of 11.0:1, and the cylinder liners are aluminium alloy rather than cast iron. The Valvetronic induction system was omitted. This car is finished in a tasteful hue of Le Mans Blue, with black upholstery. There are also Glacier Silver textured trim inlays around the cabin. The original gear selector has been replaced by a genuine BMW motorsport 'golf ball' example - though the factory shifter will be supplied with the car. Just like the World Touring Car, it rides on 18-inch Style 216 alloy wheels. The 320si is also equipped with M Sport suspension, the M Sport aerodynamic body kit, and an M leather steering wheel. The car is fitted with an aftermarket K&N air filter. The car also features BMW Professional audio, xenon headlights, rear parking sensors, cruise control, and the through-loading system. Accompanying the car are all original manuals, including the service book, the original first aid kit and full BMW tool kit. CONDITION: Both the car's Le Mans Blue paintwork and its black leather interior are in fantastic condition and have been subject to a full internal and external detailing service prior to being presented for sale. During my ownership the car has always been stored in a garage and run on Shell V-Power fuel. SERVICE HISTORY: The car has a fully documented service history and has recently benefitted from an oil and filter change and MOT in November 2024. SUMMARY: This is a practical and refined executive saloon that is also a fun driver's car, a hidden GEM!. Next MOT due 28/11/2025, Blue, 5+ owners, £6,350
