Description

Regrettably letting go of my first car. I've had her since late 2013. This one will be tough to see go, but it's only right as it spends the vast majority of the time just sat in the garage and deserves to be enjoyed by another likeminded enthusiast. I got this car after spending a summer doing work experience for a local classics garage in my teens and nearing the end they gave me a deal on it. It proceeded to be my daily for the following 2 years before being retired to my weekend/summer toy for the remaining 8 or so years. It had around 84000 miles when I got it and is now sitting at just over 94,600 miles. So only really 10k miles in 10 years with the vast majority being in the first 2 years I had it. I recall the previous few owners before me were a father and daughter. She's had a fair bit of love over the years. Previous to my ownership it was converted to carburettor and fires up straight away. It's also got a lovely stainless performance exhaust with a sports Cat in it so it meets MOT emissions standards. These bits make it a very zippy mini and really does fly along a country road. During its daily duties the gearbox started to crunch into gears so I bought a new gearbox and had that installed. It has an occasional rattle at idle, which I think is the idler bearing which may need doing at some point. She's got a set of ultralight 12 inch wheels that are half an inch wider than normal. In honesty they could do with a refurb but in performance they are absolutely fine. I just put a fresh set of Yokohama A539s all round a few months back so have probably around 100 miles on them (can still see the new dye dots on the sidewalls). Group 2 arches surround the wheels to give it a "retro rally" look I sourced and installed a very rare genuine Mini Cooper Sump Guard which gives you peace of mind and adds to the "rally' look. It has some nice interior touches such as metal door latches and Cooper 500 gear knob as well as an aux head unit to plug your phone into. NOW the bit we're all waiting for Rust. It does have some non structural rust in usual places I've tried to picture these areas. HOWEVER Ive just spent a large sum having both sills and jacking points replaced as well as the majority of the drivers side of the footwell as the mechanic that looks after all my cars said it had to be done. This work was done in December '24 so it's freshly done See pictures. I have many more progress pictures for seriously interested parties. Sad to be listing her
