Much loved car of nearly 20 years, only selling due to inheriting a newer one! Only 3 owners from new. 10 months MOT and had no problems getting it though - only needed an anti roll bar link with 2 non urgent advisories - a slightly deteriorated rear registration plate and slightly frayed offside rear seat belt. Scruffy bodywork but very little rust on paintwork. The paint is peeling on the roof, there are 2 key marks down the drivers side and a dent in the boot. The latter 2 happened whilst living in Bristol so I didn't fix them as it was quite likely to happen again! All could be remedied at a cost, or with a garage and the time but certainly not necessary. Excellent runner, nippy to drive but economical at about 60 mpg. Low mileage for this engine at 130,000. Major VW service November 2023 at 125,000 miles. All paperwork available. Timing belt and water pump replaced October 2022 at 122,208. Other minor problems: Cigarette lighter and inside light currently don't work. Dashboard dials can be glitchy if car hasn't been run for a while or if it's got damp but this remedies with driving. I had a quote for a second hand replacement dash insert of 132 pounds but decided not to proceed with it as problem was very intermittent and I didn't want to lose proof of my mileage. Tidier examples of these cars still going for good money, price reflects condition and issues.
