Description

Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec - Spares/Repairs/Project For sale is my mother in-law's Fiesta. Stopped driving in December 2024, so this bad boy has sat for a year. It was last MOT'd in January 2023, at which point it had an advisory on the steering rack. Having tried to drive it today, I can confirm that the rack and track rods etc are now dead, hence spares/repairs. The good: Only 46K miles I had it serviced for her every January since she bought it, at about 2/3 years old. Fun car to drive. Starts from cold and runs very smoothly - no valve or other bad noises. Paint is in great shape, especially for a Ford in a flat red. No obvious fading. 4 good tyres (see photos). Everything works - including all electrics, except the stereo (see 'the bad'). The Bad: Needs a steering rack, track rods, etc. She drove it like she stole it for the last couple of years. Cosmetic write-off in 2023 due to being driven into the open door of some bloke's Audi TT - nearside front wing and bonnet replaced, both nearside door skins have had rough, running repairs (see photos). Suspension rough at rear. No stereo - original head unit had developed parasitic drain (v common for model/year) disconnected and plug removed from loom (by me, stupidly). Brakes are sticky from standing, and would benefit from having calipers removed and cleaned. Boot lid interior needs to be re-fitted (all present and undamaged), following replacement of the latch, which had gone bad. So, most definitely a project, but a rewarding one, especially for a young/new driver. This car is properly fun to drive, and never misses a beat (except from the stereo :) ). Once fixed, it will polish up nicely, other than the dents on the nearside.
