Description

I purchased this original August 1958 UK car in 2001 as an MOT failure. Over the following 16 years I restored, replaced, rebuilt and made everything. Body/Tub - all new panels where needed, fibreglass bonnet made to hinge from the front for improved access. Underside is sealed and the car was professionally painted in Austin Healey Ice Blue. Interior - new leather seats and foam and new carpets. Bespoke aluminium dashboard with burr pattern with Racetech mechanical and electrical gauges. Running gear - front - uprated and re-valved dampers, uprated springs 1" lower, extra top link arm, nylon bushes, anti-roll bar with rose joint bearings. Rear - new leaf springs lowered 1", uprated and re-valved dampers, Panhard rod with rose joint bearings. Brakes - front - 10 " disks with Girling race callipers. Rear - lightened drums with Mintex competition shoes. Front/rear bias adjuster. Revolution wheels with Yokohama A539 - 175/60/R13 tyres Rear axel - rebuilt with uprated half shafts and the rare 3.7:1 Diff with a Salisbury limited slip unit. Gearbox - 4 speed with Jack Knight straight cut ratios. Engine - A-series 1380cc with MED full race head, 296 Kent Cam, Omega pistons, everything lightened and balanced. Electric water pump, aluminium radiator and oil cooler. Lightweight alternator, flywheel, battery and competition clutch with central push mechanism. Luminition race ignition, coil, leads and plugs. Webber 45 with race Maniflow inlet manifold and full race Mniflow exhaust system. The car was set up on a rolling road, pulls cleanly from 1,500rpm through to 6,000 rpm with 140bhp. This frogeye is fantastic to drive and sounds amazing. Reluctant sale but it need a new home now.
