Description
2004 Discovery 2 G4 LE.
I have been using as my daily driver for the last 2 & 1/2 years and have done a lot of work to get it to the standard where it can be comfortably used for my commute. Car is running great - starts on first turn and no lights on the dash. August '24 the car did a 1,450 mile round trip to France and was flawless.
Details are below - this is well loved car that if you stay on top of chassis treatment and oil changes, has a lot of life left to enjoy.
In the last 2.5 years I have spend over 5k on:
- Car serviced with Land Rover Specialist every 6 months when in daily use and with MOT
- Trans Oil also flushed and changed
- New front shocks (car came with recent 2" lift, but I upgraded to Terrafirma shocks for ride)
- AC has been returned to working, with leaking pipework replaced and heater distributor arm replaced.
- Upgrade to vented brakes all round, including new callipers
- Rear watts linkage is upgrade to cranked Armoured Engineering.
- Rear wheel bearings both replaced
- Various leaks resolved, including rocker cover gasket for oil and coolant leaks (this included expansion tank / water pump / caps / pipe work etc.

The bits that need attention:
The car is approaching 200k miles and the driver seat has a tear. I drive with a cover on it to prevent further damage, see photos.
Rust. Limited to the drivers side rear passenger wheel arch, evident from the top. It is not present on the underside. It has previously been patched and painted so I have just left it.
Intermittent "3 Amigos". The car has 25mm hub-centric spacers but still I think the ABS sensors don't like that - they have a tendency to fail. I've replaced 4.
Window Tints could do with redoing or removal.
