We are excited to offer this lovely Porsche 911 996 Carrera 2 Tiptronic S. Now being seen as a modern classic and as the one to buy, this Porsche 911 really is special. The 996 set the tone for Porsche's future, and some believe saved the brand. The 996 was officially the first water cooled Porsche, bidding farewell to the air-cooled cars of yesterday. This car really is something to behold, the previous owner truly loved this car. He garaged it and only took it out when nice and has owned it for 17 years. In those 17 years, he really did go above and beyond with maintenance. On top of the 14 Franchise and Specialist service stamps in the book, I have calculated over £29,000 has been spent on Service and Maintenance in his ownership. Crazy!! However, due to this and to the benefit of the next keeper, this car had a new engine fitted at JZM back in 2008 at 74,057 miles. So, the current engine has only done just over 60,000 miles. The good news is, the first generation of 996 engines were prone to failure due to the notorious IMS bearing failure and Bore scoring which can be a massive scare with these. Thankfully this is now no longer something to worry about, as the engine fitted at JZM was the latest 996 Engine available at the time, when the issues were in theory ironed out and has been trouble free since. I can honestly say that for the money, there is little else that commands the attention and respect of others like this car does. It's the thumbs up in traffic for us! Our Director feels its a shame to let the car sit and wait to be sold, so has been taking it home when the weather allows to enjoy the fantastic engine note and smooth drive which was the biggest surprise! Due to this, the mileage will likely rise as he will be filming a YouTube video on the car as-well as the occasional use... so to be sure the car is here, viewing is please by appointment only.
