Known faults and repairs: Devon country lane scratches and dents (not structural) on nearside, chip on corner of rear bumper, emery paper on upper part of ramp worn. One inertia reel belt for back of wheelchair repaired, fragile original locking lever for inertia reel belts for back of wheelchair replaced with longer, easy-action lever. ADVANTAGES OF SIDE RAMP: Side ramp access means the wheelchair goes straight up into the passenger side beside the driver so it still has the 3 original back seats and a full-size boot. This means that, unlike rear ramp WAVs, you don't have to put extra equipment and luggage in after the wheelchair so, when you stop for coffee, you don't have to remove the equipment and luggage, bring the wheelchair out, then put the equipment and luggage back, then go for a coffee, then remove the equipment and luggage again then put the wheelchair back in and then put the equipment and luggage back in. Phew! We bought this WAV when my wife was disabled by a stroke but she now has dementia and has moved permanently to a residential care home so we no longer need a WAV.
