Overall the car is in good condition for it's age. When the car has been on a long run, and is hot, second gear can become 'crunchy' to select. I took it to my garage and when it was serviced in October (and new NOT) I had a new clutch fitted however, that did not solve the problem. I then took the car to a specialist in gear boxes. He took it for a run and had a good inspection and said there was nothing wrong with the gearbox, in his opinion it was the oil in the box that needed changing, possibly several times. I have had that done and it is better but as noted it can still be a little crunchy.
