Description
Rare opportunity to drive your own James Bond car, as driven by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale. Truly a driver's car for an amazing driving experience, especially with that 5 cylinder, 2.5 litre petrol turbo. A future collectable, sharing the genes of the Cosworth, XR, RS & ST, this might very well be the last true blooded Fast Ford. It was called the XR5 in Australia!
But its also a daily driver - the Ford Power starts first time, every time - with all of the top of the range driver conveniences of the day, very comfortable leather and alcantara heated seats with driver memory seat. Open the sunroof and select music on the Sony DAB 6CD MP3 player, the perfectly weighted steering, slick 6-speed gearbox and supple sports suspension riding on quiet grippy Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons guarantees an easy enjoyable drive every day.
What else? Convers+ colour dash display and voice control for a number of functions. The Sony has Bluetooth phone connectivity and later added additional 12V & USB points into the glove-box with Bluetooth for music streaming. The projector headlamps have been upgraded with LEDs and provide really fabulous night vision. The front driving lights are also excellent. Apart from that the car is original, no stupid mods etc, just a really excellent reliable car with a classic design. The Sport grill front-end really sets this car apart from other Titanium and Titanium X models.
It should be clear that this car is very much loved and taken care of but it is now sixteen and showing signs of its vintage and, while being an absolute joy to drive, has a few quirks. Its parking sensors worked perfectly until a few weeks ago, so that's an issue. Headlight washers have never worked. A recent exhaust fix means that the left pipe is a wee bit longer than its' twin, and the passenger door is starting to show rust bubbling at the bottom and a very small oil leak. The tyre TPMS system has a warning yet works perfectly (never worked out why). The alloys are slightly scratched but still look brilliant when clean. The rest of the bodywork is pretty much flawless for a 16 year old car though.
The car flew through its recent MOT in November 2024. I bought the car in May 2018 and have kept paperwork over the years, including the original HPI check, etc. The private registration is not included in the sale and this car will be swapped back to its original reg asap.
