Bought by my brother from a garage where it had been used as a demonstrator, and my brother sold it to me, so apart from the garage a single family owned it. Some mechanics say this was the best diesel they ever made, the most reliable because it did not have too many bolt ons that compromised later cars reliability. It will easily get over 60MPG on a long journey. The 3 door version is about 1 person lighter than the 5 door model, this also helps with performance and economy. It is about the best car I ever had and a reluctant sale. The prettiest Golf ever too!!!
