Description

2002 Silver Golf 1.6 SPARES / REPAIRS / IT DOES GO so PLS RESCUE This is the car you want for the Apocalypse (coming soon). Served us well for years, total workhorse, but local garage won't have us any more. Possibly because some years I climb out the window when I drop the car off. Sadly not able to keep up with investment it needs. VC5 and all service history since we got it. Been using it right up to posting, short runs and motorway runs to Scotland. Legend of a car. Unheard of bootspace. MOT expd Feb 25. Still runs good Works done: 2017 New cam belt, water pump, oil flush, oil & filter change, radiator, rear brake pads and disks replaced, coil pack & plugs replaced. 2018 Weld repair to exhaust hangers. New drivers door window regulator. Oil & filter change, air filter, spark plugs, n/s track rod end. 2021 n/s/f suspension spring replaced. n/s/f lower suspension arm replaced 2022 New exhaust joining sleeve 2023 New fuel pump. Front break pads. Front wiper blade. 2024 n/s/f brake flexi pipe. o/s/f brake flexi pipe. Weld repair to o/s floor. Works needed: Recurring coil pack issue - if you leave the car idling it will start to misfire. Got used to this and learnt how not to blow them (requires gently adding small ammount of revs every 30 secs if stuck in traffic). Drvr & Pssgr electric window mechanisms faulty. 1 is taped on, the other we do not look at or speak it's name lest it should fall into the frame again. Door locking mechanism faulty - central locking locks all apart from the front passenger door which can be locked manually. Not an issue for me - ethically ok with sacrificing my passenger during a kidnapping. Windscreen wipers don't work every time, but if you run out and whisper words of encouragement and give them a gentle nudge, they start up just fine. Due to the windows not being watertight, there's been quite a bit of condensation, and mould has appeared througout the interior. We're renting privately, so our bodies are already choc full of mould spores from our poorly ventilated flat - what's a few more. Around 2 years ago some little crapbag drove into it in the middle of the night & drove off. Hence the wheel arch damage and missing hubcap. Possible engine coolant leak - needs topping up/couple months. No biggie, just add water. Needs new tyres - couldn't get winter 175/80 R14 88T for love nor money this yr
