Description

Original and unrestored with 9,345 genuine miles verified by a large history file. This remarkable MGB Roadster was built in October 1980, right at the end of production and registered on 1st April 1981. Finished in classic Vermillion with MG's signature deckchair interior, black hood and rostyle wheels. The first owner had the foresight to have the car treated to an extensive rust proofing treatment by Cadulac when new, which is still evident today. Owning the car for 19 years and covering a mere 1,700 miles in that time, before passing it on to its next owner. Since leaving the factory over 44 years ago, this cherished MG has been fitted with mud flaps and a wood rimmed Moto-lita steering wheel. The original steering wheel is still with the car should a future owner wish to re-install it. Supplied with a full tonneau, half tonneau and a substantial history file verifying the extremely low mileage of only 9,345 miles, this file includes: Ownership history, the original sales invoice from 1981, Invoice and guarantee for Cadulac / Protectol rust proofing when new, MGB drivers handbook, Service book, Supercover membership cards, 19 previous tax discs, 21 previous MOT certificates, many previous receipts & invoices and even a piece of art commissioned by a previous owner featuring the car. Over the cars lifetime its featured in articles in many classic car magazines which are also present. It isn't very often that a car of such quality comes along with such low miles and provenance. MGB's are a great entry to classic car ownership as there's a large club scene and virtually any parts you may need are readily available from the many specialists. Being over 40 years old the car qualifies for free road tax, low cost classic car insurance, is exempt from MOT testing and is ULEZ compliant. For peace of mind a new MOT was carried out on 16/01/2025, which as expected with a car of this quality, resulted in a first time pass with no advisories. Do not confuse this car with the many other MGB's advertised, this is a genuine low mileage, original, unrestored and much-cherished example of a proper British classic, which may turn out to be a very sensible future investment.
