Mercedes C220 Saloon 1996 I bought this new from Alan Day Mercedes in the Finchley Road in 1996. I'd expected it to be my last ever car but the 12.50 daily ULEZ charge here in London has made it just too expensive to drive. I'm going to miss it. It's in fair condition, has done 75000 miles and has never let me down in 30 years. It's been serviced regularly. The work needed to be done is as follows; The body has some scuffs as in the pictures.. The speedometer arm isn't working. It's sticking to the spindle. The climate control stays on hot. The windscreen wiper intermittent setting isn't working. The radio aerial needs replacing. The rear head rests don't go down. An ABS brake sensor needs replacing. It drives perfectly; quietly, steadily and soundly. At speed it's a safe solid drive and very comfortable. It has at least another twenty years driving in it by which time it'll qualify for free ULEZ charges as a vintage vehicle ...but at 70, I can't wait that long.
