Superb and rare Mercedes C240 Automatic Sport saloon in exceptional condition. Originally a Dealer demonstrator the car was then supplied to a family business in Southampton, ultimately privately registered to the family. I am therefore the fourth owner, the V5c being in my name. Sadly the service history has been mislaid when the previous owner closed his business, however I have been in touch with the owner's son who informed me that the car had new genuine Mercedes front wings and other paintwork carried out by the supplying dealer due to corrosion which was common on early Mercedes models. This is the rare 'Sport' model introduced by Mercedes to tempt the younger driver away from BMW. Condition wise the Vivianite Green paintwork is in excellent condition with all body panels being straight and dent free. There is no apparent corrosion in the usual places, with wings, wheel-arches sills etc all presenting really well. The overall look of the car is simply stunning, actually better in the flesh than the phots show. Mechanically the car is really good, starting readily, with smooth transmission changes. Brakes, steering and handling are excellent mainly due to the exceptionally low mileage. I have recently had service belt and tensioners replaced at my local Mercedes Specialist and also an oil/filter change when I acquired the car. All switches, lights and other electrics work perfectly. The interior is excellent also, the comfortable sports cloth seats looking hardly used. All plastics, headlining, and other trim fittings are good. The specification includes electric windows x 4, air-conditioning, retractable rear headrests, centre armrest, adjustable steering column, halogen headlamps, sports suspension, 6-spoke light- alloy wheels and special order Vivianite Green metallic paint. The boot contains full sized spare, jack and Mercedes tool roll. The battery was renewed just before I took ownership. Tyres are a matching Bridgestone pair on the front and Pirelli matching pair on the rear-all almost unworn. This proves the previous careful ownership with no expense spared on upkeep. There is the owner's handbook present along with the original Sales Brochure, and importantly two working remotes. There is a Sony flip front radio/single slot CD player which gives really nice sound through all speakers. Correct Mercedes floor mats all round, the driver's showing some wear but the rest excellent. Viewing welcomed weekdays with notice as I work part time.
