Description
The Jaguar XFR is, in typical Jaguar fashion, a hugely underrated machine. It's blown me away in many ways with it's instant acceleration and fearsome overtaking abilities. When you're in the mood, it's a phenomenal performance saloon with handling and brakes to match. Yet understated looks and subtle factory bodykit don't shout about it. A real Q car. And a real driver's car. Oh, and if you just want to pootle about it go shopping, it will do that in an unassuming and relaxed way too, with reasonably good fuel economy for a 5-litre supercharged V8.
This particular XFR was featured on the cover and in an 8 page spread in the December 2024 edition of Jaguar World magazine. I've owned the car for a few months and have put about 1800 totally reliable miles on, averaging 22.1 mpg. It's just had the alloy wheels professionally refurbished inside and out and brand new Accelera tyres fitted - a great all-weather performance tyre in my opinion. New red wheel centre caps finish them off. The car has just been valeted and looks as good as the pictures.
The bodywork is in good condition, shines nicely and looks stunning in black metallic. There's no real scuffs on the bumpers and it all looks neat and tidy. Obviously it is a 16 year old car now, so I unlike some sellers, I wouldn't suggest it's immaculate - just keep it clean and polished and it'll always be a credit to you.
The interior is fine, smells nice and fresh, minimal wear to the leather, Jag mats, alcantara headlining is fine (Jags historically have sagging headlining!), leather dashboard top doesn't have the bubbling or lifting that can affect XFs. Everything works inside including the heated/cooling seats and heated screens. You must touch the lower dash with the fob for the car to start.
Mechanically the car runs well, steering has delightful feel, strong brakes, it pulls like a train whenever you want. No suspension clunks. The new tyres were fitted on 25 Feb along with the refurbished alloys. Being picky, the fuel filler release is a bit temperamental sometimes - there's a bit of a knack. It's a car I'd be happy to drive anywhere.
I don't have the service book but I'd imagine it's available to see online. The car was serviced last summer, about 2000 miles ago, just before I bought it.
Overall I think it's a stunning looking, well-presented lowish miles, unmodified XFR that seems to be reliable, and has perfect wheels and new tyres. Keenly pitched for an easy sale. P plate V2 JTW included.
