VW Golf mk1 1.8 clipper cabriolet NEW HOOD 1987 (E reg (Autotrader says it's a D reg but I've checked its 'first registered' date.)) Only 86K mileage (clock changed at 54,000 so shows as 57k) 1800cc carburettor This car was professionally stored for 10 years and completely out of use, then the previous owner recommissioned her for 500 miles, then sold her to me. I have done 4k miles in the 2.5 years I have owner her. In that time I have put a beautiful new blue mohair roof (pure white headlining) on her, and a new standard exhaust. She's in daily use and a great run about. I have driven her from Newcastle to Hertfordshire (with the top down!) so I know she's reliable. She has no radio as that's the way I bought her, but the sound of her engine is too good to miss so I never fitted one! This is a reluctant sale but we could use the funds. Manual choke The only small indiscretions are; -Some bubbling where someone changed the windscreen years back, well before I owned the car (see pic). This has been treated to stop it getting worse. -The paint on the front and rear plastic bumpers is peeling slightly (see pics), so could use a respray. Other than that she's in great condition bearing in mind her age of 37. She starts first time and is in daily use. I can't get the clock to show the right time.
