Description
My September 1974 Midget is a fine example of one of the last chrome bumper midgets with the much sort after rounded rear wheel arches.
With only five previous registered keepers ; the second owning it for 40 years from 1977 to 2015. The owner's daughter Karen confirms: "it was only driven in the dry" Thus My MG remains highly original, if restored. The refurbishment is catalogued in the car's history file and also via an accompanying substantial folder of photographs which chart the car's resurrection from bare, corrosion free shell, to fully rebuilt.
This Midget boasts a link to automotive/motorsport royalty, Gordon Murray CBE Chief Designer Brabham F1 & McLaren F1; founder GM Design & GM Automotive.
To quote the previous owner, Jenna:- "This MG was purchased by Gordon Murray & gifted to me, by him, for my 50th birthday. The car is in virtually as new/concours condition, having undergone a full rebuild and restoration. Even down to the last sticker in the engine bay. It's never been out in the rain since it was rebuilt."

Finished in Blaze, my Midget was restored about 7 years ago but has since covered only 400+ dry miles. The immaculate condition extends to the engine bay, the underside and inside the wheel arches.
I have looked very hard for anything to blot my MG's copybook, but could find very little worth mentioning. On stripping, the body shell was found to be completely corrosion free. Body replacements are limited to the sills which were only removed to check for corrosion, of which there was none, & replaced with Heritage ones.
A set of original Rostyle wheels are shod in Firestone 'Multihawk 2' tyres & the spare is unused.
