Description

Reluctantly forced to sell my dream car, due to age (mine) and practicality. I specified and bought this car new in June 2002 from Dick Lovett BMW Swindon. I owned the car until 2005, when I had to get a bigger car due to arrival of our first child. A close friend purchased it from me who I bought it back from in 2015 and have used as my daily driver ever since. Early life service with BMW dealer and all parts replaced with genuine BMW parts. There is a full history of all work done to the car either by BMW dealer or a local BMW specialist From 2015 I have done 90% of all work with parts either genuine BMW or OEM brands (Febi, Mahle, Lemforder). Condition wise, there are some minor scratches and chips but during lockdown I had some bodywork done, new drivers side wing, repairs to ends of both sills and had the bumper and bonnet resprayed. I have included photos of all areas of rust, chips and scratches. I refurbished the headlights last year, but still get a small amount of condensation but they are now much clearer and scratch free. I also fully refurbished the brake system with new rear brake lines and callipers plus new hoses to all corners, new disks and pads and full fluid flush and replacement. It was doing that job that made me realise I don't have the facilities or physical capability to do what jobs remain doing. The car has two issues, Torque Converter Clutch slip (which I have had a fault code for since 2015) and sump seal (and possibly rear crankshaft seal) leaking (not excessive, certainly don't need to top up the oil between services). This job requires raising the car and dropping the front subframe which I don't have the space to do myself. So I have a full folder of receipts and a spreadsheet detailing everything I have spent either on or for the car since it was delivered. There are few spare parts (water pump, hoses, expansion tank) and also the original head unit and frame (all pixels were working when last in the car). The current aftermarket stereo is starting to fail (the screen) but replacements are still available from the likes of XTRONS at reasonable rates. Everything works, memory seats, heated seats, aircon, all controls, electric mirrors, windows. Engines is smooth, recently did a trip to Anglesey and back with no issues. MOT due in July and can't see why it would fail as there are no issues with steering, suspension or lights. The car is subject to road tax of GBP 735 from April but if you tax the car in March only 415
