Description

Yes, you read that correctly. And no, it is not a typo. Having covered less than 30 miles per year on average, the odometer displays a barely believable 885 miles. Rarely can the phrase “time-warp condition” be rightly applied to a car, frequently used though it may be. This is one of those rare occasions. Supplied new by Roundbush Garage Ltd in Aldenham, Hertfordshire, this limited edition Peugeot 106 Key West was first registered on 1st August 1993 having been purchased for the princely sum of £7,225 (or a healthy £15,241 in today’s money). Shortly thereafter, on 12th November 1993, the car received its first service - a so-called Warranty Inspection - at just 324 miles. Sadly, just a short time later, the owner was forced to hang up the keys for good. Though apparently taken out of storage for its first MOT on 23rd August 1996, for the best part of 32 years, the car has remained all but unused. Needless to say, there is little in the way of history, though all maintenance has been carefully documented nonetheless. Together with the original and complete book pack is a handwritten Sales Order, Sales Invoice dated 02/08/93, MOT certificates (all two of them), an invoice for recommissioning work carried out in October 2024 and two sets of keys. Poles apart from a ‘barn-find’, this beautifully preserved vehicle has spent decades in dry storage. As such, its condition can only be described as age-defying. Though generally well built, French cars of this vintage did suffer somewhat from underbody corrosion. Not so here, in fact a close inspection will likely have you heading for your local Specsavers; to see is to believe. The interior can only be described as ‘as new’. Not only are the exclusive Key West embellished floor mats present and free from wear, but you’ll even find a pair of 32-year-old, Peugeot branded paper over mats. Of the over 5,000 Key West editions produced, only 5 remain licensed with a further 69 currently SORN. I think it’s safe to assume that this is the lowest mileage, most original example in existence.
