I bought the car cheap to restore back to factory original specification. I have a total of 11,500 pounds invested in the car. Improvements since my 2 year ownership include:
-New headliner (factory spec)
-New front and rear brake disk and brake pads
-New timing belt and timing chain
-New genuine alloy centre caps
-New charcoal filter
-New PCV valve kit
-New cam follower
-New oil pick up pipe
-New water pump
-New coil packs
-New dog bone mount & bushes
-New rear arms
-New shocker tops
-New engine mounts
-New rear callipers
-New diverter valve (revised)
...and much, much more. All done within last 2 years and driven a total of 6000 miles.
Great Bits:
-Genuine VW GTI floor mats
-Continental premium contact 6 tyres all round with good tread
-MOT expires in Jan 2026
-All paperwork present for work carried out incl. V5 (in my name), original book pack, original broacher, all previous MOT's, previous invoices.
Bad bits:
Ever since I bought the car I have been chasing a hunting issue. I have had the vales cleaned, injectors replaced, smoke test done but still no luck. It requires specialist attention. This has also created a flat spot and timing is slightly out (according to VCDS) therefore the car can judder slightly when setting off, but rest assured there are no faults with the gearbox. Car drives spot on otherwise.
The central locking is not working as the passenger rear door module needs replacing (a set of brand new door modules will be provided with the sale).
The drivers seat belt lock is temperamental.
Bodywork needs attention ideally a full repaint. This was the last thing as part of the recommissioning.
